Do your birds occasionally fall off their perch or cage? I ask because twice in the last 12 days my CAG fell. The first time she was climbing out of her cage on to the door and slipped off, she broke the tip of her beak but not too bad. And then tonight she fell while climbing inside the cage and feel to the bottom of the cage. I have had her for 9 months and can only think of one other time this has happened. I've had my green wing for 4 years and can only think of him falling once. I'm thinking tonight might have been because of the chipped beak being a little shorter, but not sure. How common or uncommon is it?

Did something perhaps startle her?

My mother's African Grey falls pretty often. I read they're prone to it.

My Green Cheek falls off her stand often too.

Typically they will only fall if they're at the young age where they're just learning to climb and get around, and learning their agility. Or, maybe if the toenails are clipped too short and they can't grip like usual?
Sometimes but RARELY it randomly happens to any parrot, just like a person accidentally slipping and falling or tripping. If it's really happening more than rarely like a random slip, I'd get it checked out by a vet.

I just noticed Emily says her and her mom's parrots fall often too, so it could really be a number of causes... not just those I mentioned. Could be totally normal, could be caused by an ailment. It's hard to say over the internet when no one else can see the bird to give a more accurate guess, but watch him closely. Usually I just get a "feeling" if something is not quite right, vs if it's really nothing.

I've never seen my bird 'fall' she been scared as few times but that's it.... In like 11yrs?!!

Keep an eye on her next few days. If she keeps falling get her checked. Might be an option anyways, she could damage her chest bone!!!
