Yeah, he makes up stuff to say all the time :)

SO precious! He sure know a lot of "hello" varieties, but THE cutest thing is when he says "I love you", accompanied by the kissing sounds. AWWW!!! That just turned me into butter! :D

He sounds likes such a happy, contented baby. Night night Salsa and the group:)

You're right, Wendy. He really does have a lot of variations on "Hello" ...sometimes he says it as if he were trying to express "HELLO! Is anyone out there? Is anyone even listening to me??" Other times it's more like "HELLO! I'm here so everyone can rejoice now." Then still other times it's a very contented sounding "hello" like the ones he's vocalizing in this clip. And he also utters his little high-pitched "hello's" when he shakes hands with me. Then he even has other variations of 'hello' which I'm unable to easily describe.

I have no idea how Sals learned all of these hello versions. He must have picked them up on his own because no one would likely teach a bird that many different versions of the same word. And I know Terrie would have shared with me if it were her intent that Salsa learn all of the inflections and styles of using the word that he in fact knows. And it's not likely he learned them all before Terrie acquired him since he came to live with her at 4 months of age. Plus, Sals says many other words and phrases in multiple ways, too. So I think it's just one of his things. He actually still comes out with new stuff all the time...by 'new', I mean things that I've not heard him say yet. He never ceases to amaze me :). I wish I could capture a lot of the stuff he says on video that no one here has yet seen or heard.
