I wasn't sure where to post this:
Last night Eva gave us quite a scare. We had just purchased these toys from Petsmart. The lady insisted that the toy was good for a conure. She showed me they have them hanging in the sun conure's cage. So, I purchased the toy for Eva. Last night, she got the bell from the toy stuck on her bottom beak. It took what seemed forever to get it off. We had to use 2 needle nose pliers. It scared me so bad!! After about 5 minutes of trying, I had to put her back in her cage. I was crying so bad. When I did, she twisted her head all the way back, mouth open wide and it looked like she was broke in half. It scared the heck out of me. She was crying I think. All I could do was cry to. Hubby calmed me down and he held her. I got them off finally. I didn't sleep good for being up keeping an eye on her. But she has no marks in her mouth or on her beak. She's eating seeds. In fact this morning she came to me wanting seeds. I think last night she was just as scared as I was. I really hope all that progress hasn't been reversed because of the forcefulness we had to use in getting her out of the cage. The most important thing is she's doing well now. I attached a photo of the bells. I'm also trying to warn others if they have this kind of bell in their cage to please be careful. I thought they were safe, and they aren't.
