Merlin & Charlie (Senegals)
Poop! Gross, I know! I have two senegals now and I'm concerned. Merlin's poops are MAMMOTH in size and Charlie's are dinky little things. So I'm looking for "who's is normal"

Can you please grab a snap of your little terrors poops please? Their 'morning' poop and any other type would be fantastic. :)

Cat, I don't have poi, but I can tell you this: When Ripley takes his first "doo-doo" in the morning, it is MAMMOTH in size compared to Niko's. I found that Niko relieves himself more frequently than Ripley, therefore there is always a big size difference between their droppings.

If I remember, I'll take a picture of it tomorrow morning, but I swear I will run for cover after posting such a massive dung.

Charlie doesn't do a huge morning one, just every 20-30 mins or so a little one. He doesn't eat late like Merlin though.

Merlin does huge ones throughout the day (although the morning one is probably the size of his head!) He does them less frequently but they're stinkier and larger. I prefer Charlies even if it is a pain in the butt to constantly be cleaning up :p

Glad to know your Niko and Ripley are different despite them being similar species and stuff. Will hold out for some poop pics. :)

When I first got Rio, hers were small/er and every 15-20 min. Sometimes less if she was/is nervous. We call her the lil green pooping machine. LOL! Anyway, since she started sleeping in a different cage than the one in the livingroom, she doesnt like to poop in the sleep cage. Only occasionally will she do it, most of the time she waits. So now when I take her out I the morning I hold her over a plastic wash basin I use under her bungee and tell her to go poop and she does. She doesn't like to poop in her cage either. She will hold her butt over the edge and do her business. So when she does this her poops are larger because she holds it for a bit longer than usual. I wouldn't worry too much Charlie is still settling in, and he may not be showing you hils full potential yet. I'd prefer Merlin's, l hate cleaning up after it as often.

Merlins make me feel sick! :p They're horrible and stinky and seep through any clothes I'm wearing. I HAVE to change after a Merlin poop. With Charlie I can just grab some tissue, clean it up and continue as normal (as long as I'm not going anywhere!)

Thanks for the reassurance. I saw Charlie's poops at the store and they were a little larger than the ones here. But he is just changing diet and in a new environment etc. He's good with them though and isn't appearing too stressed or anything. Maybe they'll increase. I just hope I don't get two stinkers. :p

Rio was on an all seed mix diet when I got her. Her poop is totally different now that she is eating fruit, veggies and pellets. Sometimes if she eats too much fruit, her dropping are a bit watery. And when she eats carrots or pomagrante her poop changes to that color. Freaked me out the first time I saw orange poop. Hahaha

Oh Mika makes huge gross poops too. Always has in the 10 years I have had her, lol!

And onyx is no po but hers are horrific because she holds them in and then GLOP and I still haven't gotten her off of fruity zupreem so it's orange nasty.
