Erin is Normal!!!!!!!!! Almost...

Erin is practically normal! SHe bathes in her water dish every night before bed, she ate a chicken bone the other night (the marrow, not actual bone), she eat some burger a few nights ago, too. She is more accepting of human food which is a relief and now she finally desires to bathe daily, which is amazing too! She has been tearing up all her toys and beating up her plush softball, like a pinata. She has been flying around the room more too! The only thing is she still excessively preens a bit, but it's cut down. I'm just so glad to see her exploring, playing, hanging upside down, flying just for fun around the room (versus on command or to get away or to get me), and eating human food. It sounds odd, but she is acting more like Elvis everyday, but not all one person birdish, she's like E;vis, but better. Not replacing Elvis, Idk how to explain it. SHe brigs back such great memories of Elvis with the acrobats and the eating human food, but she adds her own specail twist of friendliness with everyone, which Elvis never did.

Thanks! It's just great to see she's acting more like a pet bird and taking pleasure in human interactions, different foods, toys, etc, rather than tolerating it, but not really taking interest. I honestly thought that if she out lived me I'd have to put her in a sanctuary because she just doesnt fit in to the whole domesticated bird category. She is more into flying, being free, eating nuts and foraging, not mashed potatoes and cooked pasta, etc. She'd rather chew on a real tree than some colored block on her stand, but it seems she's done a 360, which is great.
