Hi everyone. I'm new. Sadly I am having to find new homes for my 8 yr.old severe mini macaw. and my cockatiel. Any suggestions on how to find good new owners, and how to prepare the birds for a new environment would be a godsend. Money is not an issue... I'm not intending to sell my babies!
Thanks

Hello and we are glad your are here but sad you must part with your friends. Please let us know what state you are in and a few photos would be good. There may be someone here that would provide a good home for them.

So sad that you are having to part with your birds, must be absolutely heart breaking
Hopefully a good and loving home, will be found.

I'm in Massachusetts. I'll get photos soon. Thanks for replying so quickly.

Try your avian vet, they usually know (and can recommend) somebody who would be a good owner and is willing to take in birds.

Thanks, Birdamor. I'll try that. Two of my former avian vets have closed their practices, but I'll check around.

Thanks everyone! I've checked with a couple of avian vets, and they sound very encouraging.

You sure are doing your best, to find them a good home.
Keep us posted
Good luckl

Hi Apatrimo94

I'll get a picture to send you today or tomorrow. Of his cage, too, if you want that.

Thanks

I'm not sure just how to use this thread site...but I want to thank you all for your support in my finding homes for my birds. Sadly, the cockatiel died overnight a couple of weeks ago, and I was devastated, but I have no idea what happened. Poor little guy.
The good news is that using some of your suggestions, I found the most wonderful home for my severe mini. She has been in her new home for almost two weeks and is absolutely thriving, chattering away, making up games to play with her humans, and is much loved. So thank you all!
