i am the mom of three parrots:
Dorothy- African grey (cag)
Bowie- blue and gold macaw
Nellie- hyacinth macaw
Reggie- hyacinth macaw
Marnie- white bellied caique
I'm wondering if anyone has any good images of gcc eggs being candled. I am trying to show my daughter and we do have eggs that we have candled however I don't want to disturb mama too much so I'm making it a quick look. I have looked all over youtube and really don't find too much. We are on day 14 from the first egg, we have a total of 5 eggs and it looks like three are good. I'm just trying to teach my daughter what to look for, she can see the veins however there is a dark spot in the egg which I am assuming is the eye of the chick however it's hard to show her because the box is up high and I don't want too much commotion around the parents.

You should not handle the eggs any more...the oils from our skin will clog the pores of the egg & can cause a chick to suffocate.....if you must handle an egg, it should only be done with non-powdered examination gloves on.....

While not parrot eggs, see if this site will help: picture journey of my goose egg incubation AWESOME! ALL PICS IN FIRST POST! Easy to see!

There used to be some better pics on the net, but couldn't find them off hand.....

Thank you for the links. I don't actually touch the eggs at all. I have a long necked flashlight that I just hold over the eggs and can see the egg that way. This way you don't need to touch the egg at all.
