I had a fantastic time filming wild eclectus in Far North Queensland Australia. What was fun was to watch the males escort the females to the nest and then the female would punch the male aside with her bill and enter the cavity. They sure nest high! Every nest tree I saw was at least 50 feet up or more!

Sorry this still image is so poor. It was a grab from a video clip but should give you an idea. Your welcome to preview a trailer to the film here if you like:

Watch your step when filming Eclectus in the wild!

During the period I filmed Eclectus in Northern Queensland I had chance to view some of the local flora and fauna that crawled out onto the dirt road I traveled after a warm moist rain. This guy is a death adder and definitely not something you want to step on. You have only a short time to get emergency help before you are on your way to eternity. Its kinda funny after filming this guy the next day I was sitting down at the edge of the forest with my camera ready for more parrot filming and I felt a sharp pain in my knee! Oh NO! Death adder ! was my first thought. Nope.. just a stinging nettle and I was no worse for the wear... ha ha..

Thanks for sharing. It is so neat to see wild parrots. The snake on the otherhand, well you could have left him out. lol
