Hi All
I've posted a few other threads talking about two new babies I've picked up. 2 Eclectus, one male who is only 4 weeks old, he's super sweet. One female who is now 7 weeks old. They have both been handreared since 10 days, I took her over at 5 weeks.
She is a nightmare already! haha
Just trying to find out if this is normal behaviour, I wouldn't have thought so considering she's still so young.
- she attacks and I mean, really lunges at you. she's sitting next to me right now while I type and she's really going for my fingers, aggressively not playfully.
- she is in full attack mode when I try get her from inside her cage/box and becomes quite vocal and will definitely bite.
I thought it may have been because the guy who handreared her up until the 5 week mark didn't spend much time with her apart from feeding but I don't know, she's not getting any better at all.
It's not all the time, some days, she's fine but most days there's attitude. I've heard it's typical of the females but I'm worried I won't be able to find her a good home after finishing hand raising. I mean, the biting doesn't hurt now but it will when she's a bit older.
She's starting to pick at soft food although still on 3 feeds a day, not sure if it's associated with the weening....
Advice!
