I heard somewhere that methylated spirits can be used in place of rubbing alcohol. Can anyone confirm this? It is so much easier to get over here and a lot cheaper. Otherwise any other alternatives?

can you get grain alcohol from the Liquor Store? or vodka? We've used that and it works well. I've not heard of methylated spirits. Doesn't sound good.
