So if anyone's seen some of my pics or vines of my new green cheek Castiel, they would have noticed I have flame red hair (and awful blak roots!) so because I'm not playing any gigs or conventions for a while I decided to go back to black and this has upset my bird. (I think...)

He keeps puffing up at me and thrashing a wing my way. After talking nicely with him. "Hello, what's you doing, cute boy" that sorta thing he calms down. It's literally just today as I only did it last night. X.x

Do you think he's upset because I cut my hair and dyed it?

Here's a little vid of him invading my space. https://vine.co/v/hq2D3OVKHbj

Birds don't like change its very likely the color of your hair makes you seem new or a threat. I'm sorry but I have know idea how to fix it.

They will get over it. Mine hate when I change the color of my nails, but are getting use to it. Change is GOOD for a bird. If nothing ever changes they never learn to adapt. I guarantee in the wild things change daily!

Whenever I dye my hair my birds do not like it. Even if it is in the same color family, they do not like it. But they do get used to it. My Quaker makes all of his threatening noises and then asks me "What happened?" ;)

Nails on the other hand... eh, lets say I will never polish my nails again, ever.

He will get over it! It's better he gets used to change if you change your hair etc a lot anyway. My sun used to flip out whenever I put my glasses on at night but now he's way over it and I think he even likes me better when they're on! Haha

My advice- keep chatting him up! He knows your voice. He will figure out that just cause your hair or nails or makeup changes doesn't mean you're a different person eventually!

Thanks guys! I was thinking he'd ge used to it but I was a little worried and wondered if anyone else experienced the same thing. I so glad I'm not the only one!

The other day I wore my contacts for the first time around Kiwi and she did not like it. She's only seen me in glasses. She bit down on my ear really hard, and then on my fingers. I spoke to her in my usual voice, and when she realized it was me, she got all cuddly. Silly girl

I just had my hair cut today, so we'll see what happens when i get home 0.0

Aha omg. Yes cass has been the same then I wore mine around him (only for reading) and got rid of them off my face x3

My green cheeked conure hates it when I drastically change hair color. She will attack and bite me. She loathes any fingernail polish, therefore I no longer wear any. Trixie is a very bossy parrot, lol.

In nature, the paradigm remains the same but the variables - food and nesting - tend to change. External influences (e.g. human destruction of habitat) are comparatively unnatural. Otherwise we could also use teflon pans to cook food with and not worry about the birds dying...)

Some of my birds went crazy on me when I dyed my hair, my best friend she's a hairstylist and she tend to want to use me as an guinea pig.....But they got over it in a few days or so. They know it's me by my voice and I had to reassure them with my voice to let them know it's me and it's all right. But now days they don't care, it don't bother them anymore....

Yeah he'll get over it. Oliver actually never minded me changing haircolors, I think he just got used to haha. And for awhile he would get weird about nail colors but it doesn't bother him as much anymore.

He'll realize it's just you soon enough!

My sennie loves my glasses. Sometimes if I'm showing off at Vacation Bible School I kiss her belly and come up with a bird atatched to the bridge. It gets a lot of laughs :D. You learn quickly though never to leave them on the couch...
