Dusky Lorikeet Black spot on beak.

Hi,
I have a Dusky Lorikeet. Have had him for about 2 years now.
Recently, about 5 months back, i ran out of the special lori food (orlux). Since then i have been feeding him african grey hand feeding formula along with apples. Thing is, there was an immediate change in his poop, the solid part was not that distinct anymore. It was more like a broken egg in a bowl that has be slightly mixed.

Few days back, i started adding various things to his diet, including rice flour, raw sugar, bee pollen, lori food of a different company (dont have enough to last for too long), glucose, etc.
Today morning, his morning poop was green. Also, over the last 3 or 4 days, he has developed a small black spot on his beak (picture attached).

Any help. Also, does anyone know of a reliable source of Lori Food in India?

I would think that the diet change, from a lori based food to a food designed for a bird eating a more solid foods would be the cause of the looser, deformed stools, but can't comment on the spot on your bird's beak, but since you have been feeding your lorikeet a non-appropriate diet, it may be missing something that it is not getting from the grey foods.....

As to finding a source for commercial lorikeet foods, you are probably going to have to contact individual manufacturers and inquire who represents their products in your part of India or find pet/bird stores in larger cities.....

I'm actually mixing lori food and baby weaning food(african grey) now. This is along with various things like raw sugar, rice flour, a bit of milk powder, corn flour alternative, ... etc..

Btw, is there any ill effect of too much raw sugar that might go unnoticed?

Thing about these lists, is that some of it is just not available. For example, we dont get weebix here, and it becomes very di***ult to understand the composition and try and substitute it for something else. Is this something to be concerned about, or can i just go with my gut on which biscuits i should buy. Also, everyone says Farex, but here we only have rice cerelac fortified with iron.

Will these substitutions be ok?

Yeah... i'm quite confused about what to be concerned about and what not to. Lori food is quite difficult to get here as our import laws have become quite silly.

Hello again Raahil.....I'm sorry about my original post, I was posting possible sources for lorikeet foods and/or recipes for making your own, which I see you are already doing...

Because they are such a messy bird to care for, I had never been really interested in them, so was not very aware of making suitable lorikeet foods, but have done more reading this morning and you seem to be doing a pretty good job with your formulation, except that this link suggests that you might want to add more fruits to your feedings: FEEDING LORIES

You mentioned that you can only find cereals fortified with iron and what I have been reading recommends foods without the iron supplementation, so you might want to look at using more fruits and fresh foods in your formulation than human grade packaged foods and cereals.....

I don't know where you are located in India, but you might want to contact one of the avian veterinarians in India...they may be able to suggest an Indian source for obtaining lorikeet foods in your country.....here are some I found last year:
