Her primary feathers on her left wing aren't folding away completely. They are kinda just drooping like a 'lazy wing' :(

She is still being active and is able to fly and her behaviour seems normal. I initially gave her a little shower with her spray bottle incase her feathers were sticky with fruit juice or something and thought it would encourage preening. She's been extending and stretching her wings as usual

I told my partner, and he said she went a bit crazy last night playing with a toy in her cage and thinks her wing flapping got tangled with the toy for a moment. Here is the toy, it's some vegetable leather with wooden and plastic blocks hanging from it via an acrylic shape. (Obviously this pic was taken before her wing problem.)

Is a sprain the most likely cause of the drooping?

Could it be something more serious?

Please advise...

It is possible, especially given what your partner told you about the night before, but it isn't the only possibility. Some birds hold their wings like that to compensate for compromised balance or weakness on a particular side. It's behavior I'd seen a time or two in my first eclectus, Bixby. He was quite sick at the time.

My opinion? If she seems a little off to you, take her in to see the avian vet.

Btw, how much is she flying?

She doesn't fly much. It's pretty much, as much as I get her to. I just ask her to come over for a treat. But I don't do that non stop for long periods. So I'd guess 15mins max of flying a day maybe. But I don't think it's as much as that on average...

She tries to correct it, and as you can see, it looks close to normal and then it just droops again afterwards and looks like the first lot of pics I posted...

This is good to know too, but I actually meant how much has she been flying with this wing issue in comparison to what she was doing before.

Any updates? Is she doing better now?

She's been flying a little less as I didn't want to make something potentially worse. Her wing still isn't lying properly. So she's off to the vets Thursday morning... I thought she was a little quieter yesterday, but she was her usual vocal self this morning. I did move a couple of her perches yesterday after cleaning them to give her a little more room to stretch and flap in the cage to try to make her more comfortable.

She's back home after visiting the vet!

Bella didn't vocalise any pain during the examination. They said her wing doesn't look to be broken or dislocated or swollen. So they seemed fairly confident that is was just a sprain from playing to rough and getting flappy with her toy. Im still glad I took her to have it checked!

I'm so glad to hear this! Yes, you definitely did tge right thing taking her in. Always better to err on the side of caution.

Please give her an extra treat from me.

Thanks for the update. I'm so glad to hear Bella's injury wasn't too serious. A vet visit is always a good idea when a bird's health is in question.
