None at the moment but would love an eclectus parrot
,R.I.P to my Galah, Ban-Jo
Hi everyone,

I went to park view sanctuary recently and had such a blast. There was an aviary with black cockatoos and one eclectus. All were hand tame.

AND I GOT TO HOLD AN ECLECTUS PARROT!! The first time I saw one In Person was at a zoo and I was so so happy and overjoyed! And just a couple of days ago I was able to hold one, I absolutely nearly cried I was so happy. I was overjoyed and so happy! It was the best.

If only I had my own! :)

Hahaha, hope you're all having a good week and all your birds are doing well!

Ashleigh.

Thank you! That's the plan :)

Loved the smile on your face! :D The eclectus was adorable, and the red tailed black cockatoo in the background was beautiful. Great photo!

Surely one day you will post a picture of you holding your own eclectus! ;)

Great picture Birdlover47 - it will be worth the wait I'm sure and at least all the time you are waiting you are reading and learning, you will be the best read Eclectus owner ever and thats got to be a very good thing :)

That's awesome! It would be a dream come true for me to hold that black cockatoo!

Keep up the reading and researching and you'll be a great owner. :) That's a great picture. I love happy pictures and that's clearly a very happy picture.

I would've loved to have held the black cockatoo. Pssh, just to see it in person would be enough. I probably would've been like a kid in a candy shop (which I'm sure you were over the Eclectus :p) I would've been wide eyed and in absolute awe of it.

Nice picture!!! DO LOTS OF RESEARCH!! I have a male Eclectus. He's an awesome bird! But they are a lot of work!

Awww, adorable, the ekkie seems very comfortable on your arm!! I have a female SI ekkie and she is a Diva. She thinks she owns the world and if she doesn't like something she will let you know in a hurry.

Good luck and when you are ready I know you will do great with your first Eclectus.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone!

and I was able to hold the black cockatoo, they were so much bigger than expected! But he didn't stay on my arm for as long as the eclectus did, i think it was because my hand ran out of food haha!
