Dominant on the floor...?

Lately, Sisqo has been getting off of his cage and wandering around the floor, which is no big deal. BUT...whenever someone besides myself goes to pick him up, he bites. Now I can understand the whole height dominance thing when he's on top of the cage, but I don't understand why he would act this way on the floor.

Any ideas?

He knows you and loves you, could be he's a little fearful of others when he's on the floor.

Kito will only ever allow me to pick him up from the floor, will bite anyone else that tries. Bucc doesn't go on the floor.

Either he wants to stay on the floor and will tell off anyone other than you, or, he is nervous about being the low guy and is jumpy. If its nerves, he should improve as long every experience on the floor is better than the last. is he on the floor by choice? Or is he on the floor coz something is being cleaned or changed? Skippah is changing what bugs him from day to day, so I think he is more adaptable than I gave him credit for. does the bird want to get up high off the floor when it nips, or want to stay down on the floor but not be bugged?

He climbs down there himself. Whenever I clean his cage he goes on his playstand.

I almost think that he wants to go outside. Usually he gets off his cage and goes to the back door. It's all glass, and he just sits there and looks out.

Could he be cranky coz outside looks good, but you wont open the door?
How does he communcate his needs to you?

Well I do take him outside everyday, but he started doing this before I started taking him out. Maybe he bites everyone else because I am the only one that takes him out?

If he wants to go on his playgym or eat my food at the table, then he usually goes to whatever side of his cage the playgym or food is at, and crawl halfway down, then wait until someone gets him.

If he is on his playgym, table, or someones hand and he wants to go back to his cage then he just flies.

I slept on your problem and keep coming back to thinking he nervy about being at ground level, even though thats where he wants to be at that minute.
I keep putting human emotions on wild animals and wondering why they dont as I want.
Which emotion is more likely to end up in a bite for you? nervy or bossy?
What ever the answer to that, then ask,... is it the same sort of reaction when he is caught out on the floor? If you think he is scared, you can fix it easily with love and patience. If its coz he is bossy and not getting his way, then I have no idea coz I would be poo-ing myself if I did anything to upet that bird.
