I have Ta-dah my GCC who can be a luvey bug, or can nip me if I scritch her wrong, or she thinks I'm going to put her back in her cage. My Neptune quaker will squint his eyes at her if she does this and headbutt her, he will also step between her and me. One time she bit me, he bit her and shouldered her away. Then came over and rubbed his face on me. My hero!! Does your parrot protect you?

Mine (umbrella cockatoo) seems more concerned about my emotions (randomly- depends on the day) than my physical self.
If I get injured, she sometimes gets a bit "concerned" (maybe?) but she doesn't have the guts to do much lol. She will usually speak up a bit afterwards, but her physicality is confined to a raised crest and look of panic, followed by a judgemental cockatoo mustache +head-shake (once she knows all is well)...I know they say this "mustache" is a sign of contentment/meekness, but in mine, I swear it is judgement lol!

Here is the Downton Abbey equivalent..despite her "uncouth" behavior at times, my bird IS the Dowager Countess, and I love her for it lol!

YES! My little rooster is an angry, impulsive little wife-beater... ahem... HEN beater!
The cage and his room and yours truly? His property! Less protection and more possession. Yeah, I indulge him.
Outside that area, he's much more pleasant.

Salty is totally protective of me, Geri and Erik in that order. He will attack our dog TInker to save us from that redolent inocuous floor mop of a dog. But unforutately he also displace bites once in a while, when we are outside and he thinks something is threatening me ( because you know I won't fly away from it). Not a bad bite, more of a nip, but well......parrot.

Awww I love the stories! Thanks for sharing!!!

Usually Sunny will "protect me" by attacking not the scary, maybe harmfull, thing I am holding (oh you dumb human!! be carefull!!!) but my hand, so I will let go of it and be safe ...

(hmmm, are Salty and Sunny exchanging emails/ whatsapps or something?)

Bumble warns me about things. My boyfriend and my kid both have keys to the apartment, so if we’re in the bedroom and she hears the door open she sounds off to let me know someone has come in. She also gets VERY concerned when I go into the bathroom (or even open the bathroom door) and does a loud, frantic alarm call. If I am being really unsafe and open the medicine cabinet she goes crazy, full on loudest possible alarm call and flying away and then back to my head and then away again. I try not to laugh when she does it, and I rarely open the medicine cabinet just to get the response, but sometimes...

I have a green cheek, her name is Darling, and she doesn't protect me but she does my mom lol. When she's with my mom she likes to be the center of her attention and if we talk to her or if she reaches out to touch us she immediately fluffs up and pretends she's going to lunge at us before she butts her head against my moms neck and settles down. I learned to keep a distance from her when mom is around lol don't want any bites from an angry little one.
