I know some do and others don’t but just wondering how many of our guys talk and what they say?
Luca doesn’t exactly talk but mimics the sound ‘love you’. It’s like you know what he’s saying.
He also mimics the kissing sound if he wants kisses!
Certain songs he will sing along to the tune too!
I’ll have to try and get a video!

I got quite excited when Syd was about a 1-2 yrs old. His vocabulary seemed to be growing almost daily, but now he sticks with just 4. 'I'm sorry, kisses, ok, baby'. He links them together appropriately which is sweet but although he listens carefully as I talk and repeat things to him I am not aware that he tries new words out in the way he used to. Having said all that, if he sees birds outside in the garden and particularly late afternoon he goes into overdrive with what sounds for all the world like a full on conversation. The inflections are appropriate, he includes all his human words and sometimes I feel certain that I can hear myself in his sounds. It might be wishful thinking I guess.

Which species is your conure?

My GCC Echo talks a little. Hello Boy, Hello Echo and Hello Cocky. No idea where he picked the last phrase up as we got him as a re-homed bird. He will use any combination of the words but seems to like using his own name the most. Especially if he wants your attention.

My Blue Crown Conure talked a lot. So far my jenday doesn’t talk, but does make whispery sounds when I whisper to him.

Beautiful conures for sure! My GCC Ta-dah says a few things, hello, pretty bird, kiss sound's, NO, and Burt the Bird ( name of her freind who passed), and a bunch of mumbling. Note I must take all mumblings seriously, or her feelings are hurt, then she gets mad and stamps around!

Kermit is a better mimic that talker, but she says a few things :)
-"Hi Kermie"
-"Step Up"
-"Be Niiiiice!" (mostly a sharp, angry whistle... I translate)
-"Peeeee.... KA BOO!"
-"Baby?"/"Are you a baby?" (not very distinct)
-"Thank you"
-"KISSES!!!" (always screamed, usually followed by a smooch).

Bash has just started trying to repeat it is raw but every night I say night night which you can hear him trying to repeat , also going throught when I ask him.to step up he will try say step up and look at me but wont step up :)) x he make his own little noise for snuggles always make is before or when snuggling into me or when hes using my ponytail as a hiding spot:) x

I have been working on 'good boy' over the last few days just to see if his vocabulary capacity has been reached. After about a week of being the last words he heard at bedtime plus sessions during the day he flew onto my shoulder and giving me that look that says listen up here - offered 'good boy' as clear as a bell. WOW! OK has also reappeared which he had dropped a while ago. So I shall keep going.

Remi says "whatcha doing", "baby", "no". Petey says "Come here Petey", "achoo" (like a sneeze).
The funny thing is, Remi knows what "no" means. If he starts nibbling on my ear, he will say "no" to himself, lol.

Yoda says "Hi Yoda!" very clearly, enough that anyone could tell what he is saying. He also imitates our laughter and kissy noises.

Less intelligable, he says "Peekaboo!" and "I love you!" and "Gimme a kiss!"

Callum just makes a lot of noises back at me. He laughs with or at me, he makes kissy noises when he kisses my face, and a few other various noises. He and I have been working on "I love you" and it's getting there.

Right now, Callum's starting to say something like his name, or his favorite nickname, Bubby. My therapist (who visits my home and loves my little bird) says I'm turning him into a Pokemon :p
