Does my GCC needs this mineral block?

I got this as a gift when I purchased his cage. Not sure if he really needs it, because I've heard too much vitamins can be dangerous.



He (or she) is 3 months old. I am feeding fruits, veggies, sprouts and a bit of seeds and nuts as treats.

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. I got a calcium/mineral perch which he destroyed in about a week. I haven't put another one in there.

I had one in each of my cages and no one ever touched it. I have cuttlebones in there, also, and they never touch them. But, as you do, they eat a very balanced diet, so perhaps they know they don't need it?

I would only be concerned over supplements if my birds were breeding, and they are not.
