Feel his keel-bone to tell a bit more about weight--- you can also attach a perch to a gram-scale and then zero out the scale with the perch attached so that it doesn't weight the perch and your bird. Don't use any toxic glues to attach it while in the house with the bird-- make sure you glue it on outside and let it cure/dry fully before bringing it back in because they are super sensitive to fumes and chemicals of any sort.
