Does anyone's tiel here sing all day for most of the day?

Two Cockatiels: Rascal (Geraldine) and his baby brother named Coconut!
'Nut is chattering about... making all sorts of weird noises, chuckling, wolf whistling etc. I LOVE it. I wish he would do this all day long. Hearing him makes it a LOT more pleasant as I have to rot in front of this bloody computer working all day.

How often does your tiel sing each day? Just curious. I wish 'Nut would sing more!! :( He sings only for few minutes here and there.

I LOVE it when he paces back and forth as I'm doing dishes he walks back and forth on the counter singing doing the heart wing thing thinking he's hot stuff LOL

Rascal on the other hand is a "mute" (always has been)... so at least I have ONE bird that sings! LOL

Ducky is just like Rascal. He never sings. I'm fine with it, since all I really care about is a sweet little birdie who loves me :) Also, he is very obedient and likes doing tricks to please me, which makes up for the fact that he doesn't sing.

My male tiels make lots of noise from 8:00 am to about 10:30 - 11:00 am.
This roughly is the amount of time I am up in the morning before heading off to work. After I leave they are mostly quiet, just a cherp here and there.
The noise they make is tied to me cuz I am the one that lets them out of there cages most of the time.

1yep...I'm with Wes on this.. Beebs lets loose even BEFORE I get in the house. As soon as he hears the door open he sings his little heart out. This is about 8am. I imitate his whistles/chirps with my own special sounds and he gets even louder and more animated.
He sings when he hears my bed creek as I wake up..he sings when I walk in/out of the living room..he sings anytime I make those "special" sounds.
If it's quiet in the house,he is generally quiet.
When I do go to work,I am gone for 15 hours at a time.
It's only the three of us here, and Amy hasn't said anything to me yet if he sings while I'm gone

Elvis makes noise from sunrise to lights off around 9 pm, 10 pm when I don't have to get up early.

OMG... the coloring on your bird named "Jordan" is too gorgeous for words! :04:

Our aviary never stops from sun rise to sun set. And even during the night on the odd occasion.

I have a bonded pair of cockatiels and they are for the most part very quiet, but the male is more vocal. He will wolf-whistle when I whistle at him, will sometimes call out, but generally the two are both pretty quiet, all day.

May I ask, why does everyone else's tiels sing but mine doesn't?

Is your tiel a male or female? One of my tiels who is a male is a mute LOL He is so quiet it's not even funny.. all he ever wants to do is sit on me (he is a serious velcro bird glued to me 24/7). If he does sing it is literally for less than 2 minutes a day :)

I am soooo happy at least my other tiel is more vocal!

Mine is a male and very needy as well. He's flying laps around the room right now, he loves to fly. I've never ever even heard him sing or mimic anything, the only noise he makes is a contact call when I leave the room.

You can always play some videos from youtube of other tiels singing... that might make him make a sound ;)

Rascal seems similar to your tiel except Rascal is very lazy... 'Nut on the other hand is super hyper and loves to fly :)

agreed with Tropical. Rio learnt his words by watching videos of a ringneck. Could hear him using the same inflections in the words

Oh, I will check it out, but talking and singing were never really that important to me, I was just wondering why my cockatiel was unusual in that he didn't sing. :)
