Does anyone have a link to stick train a macaw?

Does anyone have a link or advice on stick training a macaw? Scarlet hates sticks, and is petrified when I approach her with one. I've tried putting peanut butter on the stick, and she'll approach and eat off of it, but when the peanut butter is gone, she pushes it away, and backs from it.

She's picky about stepping up on my hand, and will bite if I press the issue. I don't feel comfortable about having her out of the cage, if I can't return her to the inside when I need to.
