Does anyone else use a TV as babysitter?

So, we work out of our home and having the Suns out well we are running machines (a 10ft printer, heat press, etc) is just not safe. They are next to a shaded window where they can watch sheep, horses, and traffic. They would often scream to be let out (especially when on the phone with a customer).

My husband started putting cartoons on for them to watch and they are now totally addicted. The funny thing is this one cartoon they watch has a green guy who is the "bad guy". Every time they show him the Suns screech like crazy!

In the evening we put on lullabies and they seem to really enjoy that as well!

Absolutely.

The Rb usually has a clear preference (attending, listening, talking back) to shopping channels and C-Span... likes talking heads.

Yup....my mother used to play disney movies for her Galah. Her Galah saw Frozen before my children....oh the horror!

Kiwi pays no mind to screens of any kind (unless it's the aliens in "District 9" talking. Those aliens he knows how to communicate with).

Music, on the other hand, well he just loves the cheesiest music ever made and goes into full dance mode to it

I use Pandora on the computer. But when I leave the house, I put on the website radio WHOM. Skitty loves the music and it keeps him occupied while I'm out running errands.

I have always done this for my dogs so my birds see it too when they aren't outside. I always felt it helps them not feel as lonely when I was at work. They definitely do watch it!

I put the Disney channel on for Ollie! I don't know if he likes it that much but seems in a happier mood when I get back if I don't put anything on.

My old baby conure used to love watching anime! He would dance along with the intro to his favourite one. I'll have to find the video of it and post it here when I get back from work.

The fact they like all the colours and stuff works out well for me as I normally have some dumb cartoon on in my place so both of us enjoy it
