This is a common noise heard in my house. I definitely think it's a macaw thing (or maybe just a GW thing). My GW Coby is always doing that when I'm feeding him something that he really likes. It is quite adorable.
Yes, Salsa does it too when he really likes something. It kind of sounds similar to his "oooh ooooh oooooh's" which he does when he feels ecstasy from being scratched, but it's louder and deeper.
Both Clifford and Doogie do that but only slightly different and not that loud. Clifford was raised as a baby along side a real human baby, and she would say "ummmm" to him on giving him his Zupreem Handfeeding Formula just like a mother spoon feeding her baby to get them to eat things they may not like. Doogie's "ummm?" is upswept like someone asking a question and he has even taught this back to Clifford. Clifford does the upswept one usually in response to getting a McDonalds ice cream cone
Auggie makes that noise when he eats something he really likes or when he drinks water after coming home from the beach. The only difference is that he says "uummmm good". Sometimes he'll say me after getting a treat " uummm good, want some?"
Both my boys say Ummmm~Yummm because I often tell them that when I give them their snacks while we're eating. They don't say it while eating, rather they incorporate it in their daily talk sessions.
Your GW really did love that snack. That was way cute to listen to!
