Today Joy my 15 yr old B&G was on a roll.! She wanted to try to be a mommy for the day:)
My little cousins came over to spend the day with me, after letting the ferrets out for their play time feeding the horses ect. It was time that I caved into their begging of playing with Joy...Joy loves kids! they tote her everywhere if the kids are here joy is always on their arms:) My cousins are only 6 and 4 boy and girl so we have quite a bit of arguing sometimes....It started out as a typical day till it started getting hot and muggy out so the bickering got worse, I "threatened" to put joy away but she decided to handle the situation herself:eek: ......
The kids are playing with their toys with joy sitting on a chair next to them I hear the normal arguments of the 2, then someone yells super loud " Stop, knock it off, get over here right now, you better stock it off ( yes stock joy combines words). I mean it! Enough! Then joy proceeds to get off the chair and flap her wings...... every single time the kids bickered she would shout at them and get her point across that she doesn't want to hear it hahahahahaha:D it was the most hilarious thing I have ever seen her do!!! Or any parrot do! I wish I had my camera but its broken! And my phone was dead!! Its time like these that we need built in cameras in our foreheads! Has anyone had such an experience?? Where their parrot is the parront? I just had to share the story, it was the finniest thing that has happened in a long time:09:

Too funny! Indeed a camera moment! I can imagine the kiddos faces as the bird was taking over! haha

My life's work is going to be teaching my eclectus to yell at my children when they fight. This is the best thing -ever-.

Ha ha, brilliant! I love the wing flapping for added effect!

Milo is a little young to be a parront but he plays big brother with my Amazons. Previously when they would get silly and start screaming they would get a variety of responses according to my mood (I know, I love them really but I get grumpy if I don't get enough sleep), but I was worried Milo might pick up the occasional colourful language used so was very careful to respond only with "Shush, too loud" since Milo joined us. I'm *so* glad I did that! When The Greens start screaming, Milo shouts over the top of them "BRRAWWKK!! TOO LOUD!!" :D

I work shifts and occasionally they'll get noisy in the early evenings and I can hear poor Milo muttering "Too loud..., too loud...", only to give a very smug "Hello. Too loud" when I come downstairs to shush them.

He also told my neighbours off when they were having a barbecue last week, pointedly telling them "Too Loud!" every time they laughed or talked together! :54:

I was fighting with my kids one day when my TAG yells" Shut up and listen to mom!" Then turned his back on them. LOL It shocked them right out of fighting!

How hilarious it must have been to see and hear
Wish your camera captured it all ..... next time

Mishka thinks he is the parront everyday

He tells ME "Go to the bathroom to poopie
"Mommy must cook today
"I want my hot water bottle TODAY"
"Did you eat your food / drink your water?"

The list is endless, I guess he WISHES he was a parront.

Hope your ferrets are in a cage they can't get out of.....I know of a girl who lost her 'tiels (mom, dad & chicks in the nest) because she thought the cage locks that were on the ferret's cage were enough.....

They say the darnest thing at the right time....I swear they understand it completely and that's why they say it as my birds do it all the time. Like we would tell Dixie to hush and when she screams Willie would say Hush Dixie. Or when you open the door to call for the dogs Willie would say come on, get in here and he proceed to call all their names. They keep me laughing all the time! :)

Its amazing how they pick it up so well! Spencer my other gold sees my car coming down the road and yells moms home at the top of his lungs, I can hear him with the windows up:) and wico yes they have a cage but are out of it supervised, but they do also have their own room. The ferrets were raised. Arounf the parrots:)
I love to hear all your stories about parronts! Their hilarious! Ps the kids faces were priceless!!!!!

Wylie has picked up alot of words or just started talking again after moving in in May. Since she is 17 I don't know if she is using old words, learning new words, but suspect it is a comination of both. Jeff had her for a year before they moved in with me. He said she would only say "HELLO" and wave her wings when upset.

She moved in and my household is very loud with a dog and three teenagers. When the kids get too loud she tells them, "Quiet.. that's enough!" "Turn it down" and "I said enough!" I asked her once if she thought they were too loud and she responded with "You Think?" She tells them all to go to bed at night when she is ready to sleep too:)

Today she surprised me... we were in the garage and the automatic garage door was shut by Jeff... my husband. Wylie started swacking... "HELLOOO... What are you doing?!?!?!"
HELLO!!!" then proceeded to tell Jeff "You scared the heck out of me."

I am so loving having her in my home. I have not been able to get her to do tricks, but she is talking alot. She finally has stopped biting as I learned more of what to do then not to do... like wear fingernail polish that might look tasty. She is letting me pet her and touch her toes. So she is gaining trust. I don't push her and she will tell me "STop.. that's enough" when she does not want to be touched or handled.

Josey yells at Athena and Zeus when they scream, she will tell them to "shut up" ... She will blow kisses at my daughter ( my daughter falls for it every time she comes over) and as soon as gets close to her Josey screams and scares her. Of course my daughter thinks I have trained her to do this. She asked my daughter "if she was arguing with her" that cracked me up. My grandbaby Marley always helps me with the Josey, Athena and Zeus. I am very proud of her. She will be four in a couple of days. She will talk to them for hours. Zeus wants to prove he is king of the pack so I have to watch him when they are out. Every time he flies on Josey cage Marley comes running to find me and tell me Zeus is bad ... So now Josey says it ... She says ..Zeus is bad, get off .. Mama.. Go in time out. Lol

You don't have teach them. They copy. Wylie tells the kids to be quiet. Go to bef. Good night. In the morning she says looking good!

I NEED THAT BIRD!

I have 2 boys that are 8 and 9, almost exactly 12 months apart. They fight like a couple of beta fish in the same tank. Not one day goes by that I don't find the 2 of them barrel rolling through the living room. One antagonizes constantly and the other has a short temper. You can imagine. Weekends and summer are not my favorite times of the year!

Lol!!!! What a funny story!!!

Haha!

Mine haven't done anything like that, but I was feeling depressed last week and my senegal ran down from my husband's shoulder to mine, kissed my cheek and darted back to Ivory. This made us laugh hysterically and isn't something she'd done before or since.
