Hi All,
I was just wondering if other birds head bob when they are proud/happy? Pickle's favorite past-time is "stealing" a toothpick then she goes crazy bobbing her head to celebrate. Here is a link to a video:

She will also do this if you give her a much desired treat. Just curious.

Funny, yours does a super rapid little head bob (unless its just the video delay), most parrots do this, mine does as well but much more elongated and dramatic. He does this thing where he will slowly bend back like a snake ready to strike.

Hi, no, that is actually slow for her. She gets going so fast it just looks like a blur, especially when she actually steals the toothpick from my husbands mouth. She does the slow snake neck thing too, but that is usually loving posturing. My 2 Suns don't ever bob like Pickles does!

I haven't had Stephen long enough to know what all he does. But this is adorable.

Also, now I need to get some toothpicks and see what mine thinks of them.

Absolutely! Head bobbing is a common form of communication. Generally indicates happiness, contentment, and often a form of beckoning. I can instigate some of my birds head bob by initiating the behavior!

Great video!!

Very cute! I have one that does and one that doesn't, however it's a bit slower and deeper. He also does something that looks like tai-chi, LOL

Definitely! Smokey would start off realllll slow, bobbing, then work up to a frenzy so bad I'd think she was going to break her neck  BB does the beak banging thing ;)

Skittles does a rapid head bob when he sees something he wants. He usually follows it up with several 'kissy noises', he's a manipulative little bugger.
