Hahn's macaw
Hi all,
I am waiting for my baby Hahn's Macaw to wean. Is it normal for a Hahn's (Abundance weaned) to take 19 weeks??
:green2:

It is unusual for a Hahn's macaw to take that long, it usually takes between 10-14 weeks for most to wean. Some take a little longer than others, but that's just because each is an individual just as human infants are. I wouldn't start worrying just yet.

Best wishes!

If it's a good breeder they may like to keep them on a little after weaning make sure the bird is maintaining it's weight well. Is well flighted and also has good social skills etc

Although you have to wait longer it's a good thing if this is what there doing
just ask them why so long and see what they say
I wouldn't worry to much though
