I have Peanut for about 2weeks and he/she is about 7weeks now, I would like to a DNA test on him/her so I know what Peanut is, I know you can tell in about 18months if Peanut will be a he or a she. I was on the internet and saw that there are home kits where you send in some feathers and they email you back.. Now I live in South Africa in the Easten Cape near Port Elizabeth but can't get to Port Elizabeth just do a DNA test on by baby. So dose anyone know where I could get hold of one of this tests?

Thanks

Was going to say, you can get the post-away dna tests; which will be costly, but a lot faster :)

I don't believe that you can send feathers to the USA for DNA sexing...

However, there are places in Europe that will take out of country feathers for DNA sexing.

084bar, the test kits are not 'in your home DNA sexing' as the samples still need to be sent to a lab. I'm assuming you already know this, but saying it just in case. I would suggest looking for some place in South Africa or Europe that will allow you to send them either plucked feathers or a drop of blood.

Did a search and found these results. I do not know how reliable these places are (I know there are a lot of scams from Africa! At least, that's where many seem to originate) so you may want to see if you can do some kind of research on these companies?

National Zoological Gardens of South Africa

A company in the UK that has a lab in South Africa... might be one of the companies above that they send the samples to?
