Are Avian Biotech good for getting your bird DNA'd?

I want to get Damien DNA sexed and I want to find a good place to get it done. I haven't had a bird DNA'd before.

Also, should I clip a nail too short or pluck a few feathers (not blood feathers) to get him/her DNA'd? What would be best?

I have used AvianBioTech for every DNA and disease test I have ever done - they are very quick and they email you your results right away, so you get them before the paper copies get to you.

I prefer nail clipping as it is faster, and I believe it seems less painful. It is also, for me, easier to do quickly as it is one quick snip and then you are done instead of having to pull several feathers. The only reason I personally would go with plucking is if I had a bird who was trained to accept nail clipping calmly, without a fight, because I would not want to ruin that by clipping too short.

I usually either have my vet or the breeder do it. One time I did it myself through Avian Biotech, and I plucked the feathers from the area they said to do it. I don't even remember if there was another option then? It was in 2005. I did it for my female Bronze Winged Pi who passed away. It was accurate because at the hospital, the vet x-rayed and saw female organs.
