My Prevue cage is to dark when the top tray is in. I used an LED light strip with 3 inch packing tape over it so Skittles can't get to it.
The LED strip is taped on the bottom of the tray and 1/4 inch above the top grate where he can't reach it. The set up has a switch and lithium battery back that is mounted to the back of the tray which is also out of his reach. The wires are incased in a plastic wire mesh sleeve so he can not get to the wires just in case. The wires are all cut to length and soldered so it is all neat and out of reach.
My main question is a LED light bad for birds?
Looking for opinions if this is a good idea or not. It can all easily be removed. If it is a bad idea what are you all using to light up your cages and how do you rig it up?
