Disappearing thread?

Hello
This morning there was a psittacosis,/ parrot fever post, now it's gone??????? Poster was jacksparrow007.........where did this thread go?

Sometimes mods make threads disappear- It may be because the owner/topic starter asked them to, sometimes it about negative things happening. Maybe we will never know..

Or something, the individual was found to be spamming the Forum or other unsavory activity.

That thread was short-lived because the "member" turned out to be a registered spammer. Often a spammer posts a seemingly reasonable bit of information as prelude to a deluge of unwanted items.

Timeline: A new member joins and has instant ability to post. Sometimes "auto-mod" software flags the posts for review by a moderator. In this case it did not. One of the duties of a mod is to properly vet a new member through various databases. This member was a registered spammer and had posted a long-winded series of platitudes. Accordingly, they were banned and reported to the database to increase awareness. Hence, the entire thread was removed, as leaving the single response would lack context.

You would not believe the number of new "members" who only seek to plaster the forum with unwanted links, etc.
