Ive pretty much decided I will be going with a breeder if I get a CAG. Im looking for the Grey that is the larger size. I've read they come from a different region. Can anyone help me out in figuring out the one I am talking about? And do they cost more than an average Grey?

There are only two types of Greys: Congo and Timneh. Congo is bigger. Some breeders try to make money on people who didn't do any research and sell what they call "King" Grey for bigger price (they actually selling Congo).
So look for Congo.

From another thread, I read this

"Birdman666; DNA is really the only reliable way.

And there are two sub-species of Congo African Grays (i.e. red tails)

The smaller birds come from the coastal regions of Africa. (aka "coastal" or "normal" grays) (350-ish grams)

The significantly larger birds come from the interior regions of Africa. ("Silver" grays) (450+ grams - My "silver" gray is PRETTY HUGE at 560 grams)

So, size isn't the indicator of the bird's sex, it's the indicator of where the bird's parents were captured and imported from.

Do a DNA test to find out if it's a boy or a girl."

Is this true?

Never heard of Congo sub species. I only know that DNA is the best test for sexing the Gtey.

Only two species Congo and timneh. Congo is the larger bird with red tail feathers.
Timneh is small with maroon or greyish tail feathers

Both my Greys hatched in Zefat. So I guess I have to call them "Zefat Israel Grey". I can now breed them and sell the babies for 10000$ as they are very rare sub-species of Greys. LOL
