I recently adopted a 3 year old male, Sun conure and would like to know the differences between the Sun and Jenday Conures. Looking for the general behavioral, body language and any other differences if you know of them. Thank you. My new little friend "Yang-Yang" love regular Cherrios, I think thats his new treat. He sat on my cest and ate about 5 of them before roaming all over the chair. He's so well behaved and steps up without a problem, in both direction (to and from). Thank you all for the advice.

As I understand it, they are very similar. Their coloring is different with more yellow on the head with orange "eye liner" around the eyes. Also, they have green wings instead of yellow and green. I have a sun conure, but I have been told that their personalities and noise level are pretty similar.

I agree with Ashleigh86...very similar in personality/behavior. Difference in color with the Jenday having more green on it's back/wings.

Yes the Sun and Jenday are very similar in personality. I have had both. Saddly my Jenday passed away this last year. He was a real sweetheart. We miss him terribly! With mine, I found my Sun to be a bit more of a clown. She loves to dance and clown around and my Jenday would just look at her like "you are crazy!" Noise level was the same and both very intelligent. They both could do tricks. Over all both are very similar.

Thank you for the tips. You are ro right, the Sun is a bitmore of a clown, like to be held and rubbed in the head and back softly, and have its neck rubbed. He actually squats down and slowly closes his eys when he's being pet/rubbed. We sit with him as we all watch TV, he perches on the shoulder and eats Cherrios as his evening treat. Never wanting to toff and return to the cage...tries to say no with a little screech and a light beck peck, not trying oreven biting hard, just saying I'm not ready to get down yet. Just like a small child...LOL

GteddyTAG, your Sun sounds a lot like mine. She loves to be on my shoulder. She makes it known she doesn't want to get down. She loves scratches and she is a total clown!!! I love my Sunny!
