Dears,

As I'm new to Amazon's world
Just wanted to have your opinion, or observations about those two kinds of Amazon.

On my county I've noticed that the yellow crown is priced more than the blow fronted, almost double, and sellers are saying that yellow crowned is good speakers, singers and much fimilure with humans than blue fronted.

What I noticed through my research is that the blue fronted Amazon is good as well, and it's all about how you teach the Amazon.

It really just depends where you live in the world and what species happens to be more desirable there and/or what species was more commonly imported when wild caught birds were legal to import. Here in the US, blue fronts (a.xanthopteryx) tend to be one of the more expensive and popular amazon species with yellow crowns being relatively unknown and less costly. Small species amazons in general are less expensive here despite being a good deal harder to find than the "hot 3" species.

A bigger factor to consider is BFAs are more prone to hormonal difficulties after puberty and tend to be more 'ornery' birds overall, while yellow crowned amazons are a smaller species of amazon and tend to have a gentler personality and less issues with hormones.

Which one did your cousin give you? I can't recall, but I knew it was an Amazon. Is that going any better?

Dear noodle,

My cousin gave me a blue fronted Amazon,
Now im watching the progress,
And started learning his body language,
Responding well, coming on my hand coz I go and put it to him with confidence, so he just step up. Spending some time to feed him l, in and out of the cage .

Also I heard some unknown speech from him, but it seems that he will start speaking soon.

Thanks for asking

Amazons tend to gradually work up to new words.
At first it's "did he just say "hello"?
and eventually it comes clear as a bell and obvious as a punch in the nose the word he/she has been working on.

My CAG just comes out with new words without seeming to practice at all.
