Parrots
Porter (Broto); Fuggles(Budgie)
Am I doing alright in his diet?

Currently I have him eating mostly fresh foods...
A fruit/veggie mixture in the morning

Round about lunch time its whatever I'm having
(Usually whole grained bread taken from my lunch or Rice/ some small bits of protien two or three times a week(Chicken.. Egg random.)

Dinner time its about the same-
Normally more of his veggie mixture, some whole grains and treats.

He also has access all day to a small amount of seed/ pellet mixture I mix myself using Organic seeds; veggie pellets and fruit pellets.

Is there anything else I should add?

It sounds like you are doing pretty well. I don't know any specific dietary requirements of linnies, so it sounds good to me!

I'm just finicky and overly paranoid.

Porter is a rather quiet bird, though he has his moments entirely laid back and doesn't play much at all. One of the more cuddly bird's I've owned but I'm simply worried that he's missing something in his diet to be so quiet and content to sit in one or two places and watch the world go by.

Granted I've only had him a few months but.. When I had him checked by the vet last there was nothing wrong so...

I guess he's just a quiet little guy in general.

Teaching him how has been fun though...

Though Porter isn't a Linnie.. He's a Broto a rather not very common seen species of bird these days.

Not sure why I was thinking linnie! I mean, you did put his species in the title after all! :D

Still, same applies. Blood work would tell you if he's missing anything or not. I have heard that using full spectrum lighting can improve how active birds are.

I've seen some brotos in stores but never cared for one myself. I keep hearing that they are charming little guys!

I chose him because Broto's are along the more quiet of some species.

Small apartment means I need a quieter bird, I did some research into Parrotlets as well but all in all I prefer the cuddling more than the talking and mimicing quality.

He's livened up since I opened the windows more. That and I give him outside time now, as he's finally harness trained.

quiet!

criminy, not mine! haha, but he lived with a sun conure for a year, so maybe I just got "lucky" lol

the big thing that I was told when I asked about Broto diets is to be careful not to feed too high a percentage of protein, but it sounds like you are probably okay.

Oh don't remind me about putting birds with loud birds....Malachai the black lory lived around Java the U2 for over a year, they compete back and fourth all the time....Malachai tried to out scream Java, but his little lungs can't do it but he sure tried....lol
