My bird is a sweetheart... As long as I don't mess with her while she's on her play gym. She's never aggressive unless she's on the gym, and just putting my hand near it will have her lunging.
I tell her "No," and she eases up a little, but is still aggressive. If she continues, I pick her up and put her on the floor. After 30 seconds or so, I put her back on, and she usually starts behaving.
So am I approaching this the right way? I don't make a big scene when she does bite, and while it hurts a bit if she's able to grab a piece of skin, I don't have much issue otherwise.
My concern with this behavior is that her gym is usually right next to me while I work on the computer, and though she's never made a move toward my face, I'd like to discourage this behavior altogether.
The bird is a GCC, around three months old, and I've had her for a month.
