This was a long and frustrating process. I won't get into the details except to say that the woman I got these birds from loved them and is heartbroken that her daughter moved in and sold all her pets (4 birds and a dog) without her consent. But that said, the birds were in bad shape.

Filthy cage, dark tiny house, seed diet, no sunlight, smoker in the home. The owner just lost her father and will soon lose her mother. But the birdies are with me now. Meet Divia, age 5, and Rajah age somewhere between 2 and 5.

Unfortunate story but happy that you have them now. Sure they will come on in leaps and bounds and very much hoping for more pics soon. Thank you.

This is so sad that this happens!
My daughter was friends with a fellow that he and his twin sister were locked in a closet, with a bucket, for the first five years of their lives! Adopted by the cop that discovered them, then moved to Florida. Fast forward 20 years, girl is doing well! The boy? At this point, he has traded up into a prison cell!

Oh that's terrible but not surprising :( I have a cousin who lived in similar circumstances :(

Beautiful babies.. Thanks for what you are doing.

Same here!

I bet that you are, but if not, lots of misting /baths to help clean the feathers of the smoke. With solid diets and lots of Love these guys are going to shine-up nicely.

Since they are new, mist-up into the air above them and allow to fall like rain upon them. You never know if /or how the mister or spray bottle was used.

Oh trust me that was done as soon as we got home. Rajah was so excited he was rubbing up against the nozzle of the mister!

Some how I knew that! :D That must have been a true joy to watch and be part of - like Rajah was saying, ooooh yaaaa more, more!

Thank-you, for taking these guys and providing them a Forever Home!

SilverSage...
I wonder at how people find the strength and passion to rescue and rehabilitate birds like these. I'm just very proud to know you. I'm hopeless at anthropomorphizing, but... I really see simultaneous fear AND hope in their eyes. Thank you for doing this.

Poor babies 😢 I'm so glad they're getting a new start in life. Bless you for investing in them.
