So the vet says the overgrowth was all poor nutrition and lack of anything to chew on. Danny had lost 50g.in the last week and the vet says he would like to see him at 620g. That seems high to me? He is at 504g.
The vet was amazed at what I could do with him in the short time I have had him. The best news is the beak will grow back!
Still waiting for the blood test but heart, lung and crop is healthy. The problem in the crop I was feeling was a thickened crop becouse of the all seed diet.

First is the new beak shape, then just a shot of Danny waiting for the Doc sitting of the foraging basket.

He looks beautiful! I'm so very impressed with him (and you!).

Wow what a difference. He is so pretty. glad the visit went well. I like that foraging basket.

What a pretty boy, he sure did clean up well.
620g seems high to me as well, my DYH weighs in at 490g and our vet says thats great for him and does not want to see him gain extra weight.
But the bottom line is not what the scale says it's about a nice sleek figure LOL no fatty deposits around the keel etc.
Glad to hear he is healthy

Yay !! He looks great [and comfy on you :) )

Are you able to touch his breast? As long as it's nice and rounded it's fine. You want to be able to feel the keel but not for the keel to stick out.

I agree with Sandy on weight.

Wow! He just about looks like a whole new bird! Great news so far! Hope the blood work comes back fine!!! :59:

I wouldn't worry so much about the gram number, as long as his body condition is good. He might just be smaller, caused by poor nutrition or genetics. I would say shoot for around 550 for right now, and see what he's like there.

He looks beautiful lucky bird not a lot of birds ever see a vet he scored a good parent.
