DANGER: Millet holder

I came home from work and one of my budgies had opened the latch on the metal coiled mullet holder and gotten stuck inside. He was completely smooshed into the bottom, stuck upside down. And couldn’t move at all. He must have been stuck for a while bc he wasn’t struggling and couldn’t even budge (no pun intended). I was able to stretch it out enough for him squeeze out. At one point, I lost my grip and it snapped back and I was afraid I had snapped his neck. Luckily he survived, but everyone should throw these out ASAP! I can’t figure out how to post a picture here, but it looks like a metal coil and in or in & a half in diameter and a foot long.

I'm not exactly sure what product you're talking about but I don't think I have that.

I'm glad that your bird is alright, and thank you for raising a little bit of awareness on the danger of the particular product.

Wow, that was a great save. Not familiar with this product, are you able to upload an image to assist member recognition?

Thank you for the alert in assisting us to keep our fids safe. Happy to hear that your budgie was ok.

You must have been terrified! Timing is everything in a case like that, so glad you got home in time to rescue your little guy. Thanks for posting the warning. I don’t use millet holders but I have seen them in pet stores.

Is this similar to the one you have?
