So I look at craigslist just to torture myself. I came across this ad for congo african grey babies full weaned blah blah blah Anyway, within in the ad they were also selling a beautiful 1 year African Grey who lays eggs but since they have no males the eggs are sterile. No mention of how they got the babies that they weaned. Obviously, a scam. The pictures perplexed me. Can anyone explain them? I've never seen a Grey this color. I thought that parrots sexually matured at around 2 years so would it even be possible for a 1 year old Grey to be laying eggs?

I think this coloration is not uncommon for young greys, if I'm not mistaken. It should molt out to regular colors.

I agree with the above, and in the first picture she appears to be molting on her back slightly. If it were a scam then they probably just found images online of a pretty grey, or if they really do have her they wanted people to believe she were female without having her sexed, for whatever reason. People are wacky.

I could be wrong but I thought it was called a red mutation. They tend to be very pricey.
