I think Cracker is an unusally intelligent parrot. I think he understands his name. When I come to take him out of his cage, I will say "Here, Cracker, Cracker, Cracker" and he will come and perch on my finger. Also, when he is sitting on his perch by my computer and his back is turned to me I will say "Cracker" and he will turn around and look at me. I read that parrots are some of the most intelligent animals on earth with a very complex brain. I also read about Alex the Grey Parrot, but Cracker is a small Greencheek Conure. Do you think it is possible Cracker has learned his name?

Absolutely, parrots are deinitely smart enough to learn their name. I'm glad yours is already learning his! You should give him cuddles or a treat when he responds, whatever he sees as a reward.

I need to teach my boys their names, I'm just glad they didn't know the names that their past owners gave them... Tell me, do you think ideal names for two adorable cockatiels are 'Killer' and 'Turbo'?? I think not.

Cracker is sure one smart cracker !!!!!!
Of course he know his name.....
When he starts talking, probably one of the most repeated words will be cracker in the beginning!!!!
More joyful moments to come, when he recognizes people by their names.
When I walk in, Mishka says hello mommy, love you mommy.
She also calls my two sons by their names.
Enjoy your beautiful bird.

If you are taking suggestions for names for your Cockatiels, how about Mo and Larry. They could be the two stooges. As for Cracker talking, I am not counting on that happening. The breeder I bought Cracker from was up front with me. She told me if I wanted a parrot that could talk I should not get a Greencheek Conure. I was more interested in a parrot that would like me and like to be around me, and so far in the short time I have had the pleasure (well, most of the time his company has been a pleasure)of getting to know Cracker he has fit that bill.
