Hi there!
I'm a frequent reader, but not a big poster. Our sun conure Mango is now a little over a year old. He's very affectionate and loves hiding in his happy hut grabbing at our fingers and nibbling them while on his back. And whenever there's music on, he can't help but dance - very cute!
I just have a couple of questions.
1. He seems to hate being on any sort of flat surface e.g tables, the floor. Could there be some kind of problem with his claws/feet or is it normal for some birds to just not like it? I want to teach him to roll over, but its rather impossible while he won't sit on a flat surface!
2. While he has improved a bit, Mango really doesn't like visitors. He is okay with my father in law, but with anyone else he puffs up, sways and will bite them if they attempt to talk to him. We've tried putting him away when people are over, we've tried keeping him out and ignoring his behaviour, we've tried quietly reassuring him. We're not sure what the best course of action is. He was fine for the first few months that we had him, but then I guess our house became his territory and he doesn't like intruders. Any suggestions?
