cotton hemp

I went to Michaels today and they were having a sale on cotton hemp. I went there looking door he,p so was like perfect! cotton and hemp. but now I'm wondering is it safe ? I don't think it's natural. it's by Martha Stewart and it is green in color. I'm new to this forum. and I need help!

Hi Achuallen,

I don't think it will be safe. I keep reading about birds getting their crops full of cotton from chewing shirts and fabrics. They eventually die from starvation because their crops are full and could no longer eat. A member here, Henpecked lost his bird that way. I also worry about my bird from time to time because he loves to chew on my cotton shirts.

I wouldn't recommend cotton as some form of toy

Actually, nature does not grow a cotton hemp, but in the marketing world, anything is possible.....

I dont think there is any natural cotton hemp so probably not safe but this is where I get my hemp rope for my bird toys its expensive but so worth it!! Its all organic no dyes or pesticides used and high quality. Hemp Rope - Natural Hemp Products - Hemp Basics
