Its getting nice outside, so I thought my 2 green cheek conures would like to be outside some and enjoy the weather :)

I bought them a new cage besides the one I have thats smaller so I can just put them in it and let them sit out on the table.

BUT, they're afraid of it. Im sure because its big and new. ALso its white instead of black liek the cage theyre familiar with.

Are there any suggestions on how I can get them to accept the new cage?

I can get them to sit on top of it sometimes, but they never go in . . . if I place them in it they just fly out. I dont want to force the issue and traumatize them.

THanks in advance :)

Does the smaller cage have small doors?

Can you put familiar things inside the cage as well as food and treats, then leave it open so that they can become accustomed to the cage?

Doors are smaller... I put their sleeping perch in there... I'll try more stuff In there as well. :)

Thank you. ;)

Have you tried just having the cage by them for awhile before letting them go on or into it? That way it gives them time to get adjusted first.
