Conure huts?

So I've read all the bad things about the huts.

My question is....are there any safe huts for conures?

seagrass are the safest you're going to get pretty much but it's highly advised against as huts provide nesting conditions and can cause hormonal problems.

I'm the odd one out here, I do use huts that I make, and throw out and make again. Without behavior issues, one GCC for 17 years, and ongoing at six years for my current GCC. I use cardboard and buy material like canvas or fean that isn't easy to get threads out of. If they chew on it I start over, I've used seagrass, and just cardboard too. You can also get a wood platform, and hang a seagrass curtain on one side, I do the front so they have privacy for sleep. I keep all of mine pretty open more like hammocks....

nope- huts= hormones=avoid 100%...plus, there are the health issues related to them getting tangled or ingesting particles, but hormonal issues (including egg binding) are nothing to mess with.

I bought one of those safe huts.....I took it down because Quincy's dumbass wouldn't even go inside of it. He'd rather get on top of it and chew it......lol silly bird!

Nope nope and nope!

Unfortunately there is a good chance of ingesting those indigestible synthetic fibres which can lead to intestinal blockage. Even the sea grass ones aren’t such a hot idea as they can lead to hormonal aggressive behaviour. My Lilly had a seagrass one that she pretty much only slept in but I still had to ditch it because it made her all eggy!

There are just too many horror stories around about health issues and deaths caused by ingesting or even strangulation due to these things, it’s just not worth the risk.
