Conure 'breeds' together?

Quick question(s) for you all,
can different types of conures be caged together? Say a sun and a maroon bellied?
And what is it like having two, if you handle them regularly can they still be 'human friendly'?
I sometimes feel guilty about having just one budgie, and while I wont introduce a new one to her, I cant help but consider
have a pair of the next one ......

All but one of my guys are in pairs, and we are looking to get her a mate (red rump) All my parakeet are housed together in a large flight cage as they are going into an aviary soon.

With any other parrot I personally wouldn't cage them together as I think they want some personal space. But thats only my opinion. I also don't have conures so don't really know how they would cope in that situation. Theres no guarantee that even same species birds will get on sharing a cage. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Yeah, I wouldn't house in the same cage if they were a seperate purchase from each other ... if you got them from the same cage, at the same time, from the same breeder then I would probably consider it since they were used to it. I think it's really important for parrots to have their own space, they can play together all day long (supervised of course) and be just fine, but in my humble opinion it's important for them to have their own place to go to to eat/drink/sleep/play by themselves.

conures, we get two cages?

I think one would be plenty enough, just trying to educate myself as much as I can

Some birds like budgies for example depend on each other, they will still give you attention but they like to have another flock mate of there own kind. They can get along just find on there own, my past 3 budgies were all housed seperately partly because i got them all at different times. Pongo(yes i know its dumb lol i got him when i was like 8), who was my favourite because he was most social he lived on his own he was awesome an pet. I was thinking of getting him freind a few times actually but it always cam down to do i really want to spoil my relationship with him. So it also kinda depends on how close you want your birds to you. If you have a super tame bird that gets on fabulious with you then i don't see why you want ruin the relationship unless maybe you were thinking of breeding them.
Where as with the other birds like conures and up i think its best to keep them housed on there own. Unless of course your wanting to breed them. You can still get second bird but i don't think you should house the together. You can let them out together under supervision of course but i dont think you should house them together, even if they are the same breed. And also they'd be closer to you if you housed them seperatly. and that goes for the budgie too. You can get another but if you house them together then you might ruin your relationship between them. and also they not get along. Its best if you are going to hosue them together to do it right when you get them.

i have heard of instances of GCC and suns breeding but they always produced unhealthy babies this practice is horrible as suns are arantiguas and GCC are pyruhhas ( i know my spelling is horrible) but suns and jenday are both arantiguas and although I'm not a big fan of this it is not so bad IMO

I'm with tex on this one. If you buy them together and then house together, it would be fine. But i know my GCC hates being with the others in their cages. He blows himself up and chase them the whole cage around, pulling and holding on to their tailfeathers. So i wouldnt recommend keeping different kinds in one cage (conures), some are more calm than others, and might get picked on by the other one.
