I've been in contact with a woman who is desperate to find a home for her bird whom she loves very much. She got her Sun Conure when she was 16 and then when her life got a little busier at age 18 she rehomed her to a home a couple states away that she thought would be a perfect forever home. The new owners had her for several years and in that time acquired a variety of other pets and then decided they no longer wanted the conure. The original owner drove to Oregon to get her baby back. She is having a hard time finding housing for herself and the bird and works 10 hour days so she is searching for the perfect home.

"Ronald" (she thought she was a he for many years) looks to a be an adorable, healthy girl and the owner adores her and is very nervous about rehoming her again. She would come with a huge cage as well as a smaller rolling one. Her rehoming fee is $250. I'm considering offering my stable home to her. Nervous about the noise of two Suns and my Too, but heck, I also have four kids. And three small indoor dogs- I am used to a noisy house. Lol. This woman's love for her bird and heartbreak over rehoming her makes me sad for her. :(. She will be driving a distance to come visit my house and introduce her conure to me next week. Eeek. We shall see how it all goes I guess.

Sounds like the story of a sun conure's life. Kudos to you for considering a home for him. If you can provide him a stable life which he so deserves and it does not turn your world upside down too much, I say why not! Best of luck in your decision.

Thanks. I'm hopeful she fits in well. I adopt animals knowing it's for life so I am nervous about the commitment I would be making to her but so happy the owner cares so much to also ensure I would be a good match for her and is willing to bring her here for an introduction before any decisions are made.

I really hope it works out for you to take him. He sounds like he needs a stable, forever home where he can be loved and appreciated:)
I love it that his original owner is taking the time to make sure he goes to a good home.
