Ok, so Scout and Blue's breeder thinks they both may be Deep mutation birds. Great. So now I am TRYING to research IRN genetics. TRYING. I cannot find a place to "start" online, every article and thread I can find is flying WAY over my head. I don't consider myself a stupid person, but my last Bio class was almost 10 years ago, and I managed to guess my way through most of it without paying much attention (I was young and irresponsible), so it doesn't come easily. Does anyone know of a good website or book or ANYTHING where I could get the basics before diving in to all the craziness?

Silversage,

Try indianringneck.com. They have a lot of good info about IRN's but I have to admit with some of the mutation discussions you need a PhD in genetics and a PhD in English to even begin to understand what they are talking about.

Unfortunately my knowledge of mutations is limited to "I like that mutation but I don't like that one"

I hope this helps.

Thanks, I am actually hanging out there right now, and I feel like I am drowning!

The problem is a lot of the terms are not things that I know what they mean. There are debates about how certain mutations work, but those arguments are built on concepts I have not found yet. I did find one good sight and I am working from there :)
