So, how many out there are spending time on the forum while at work?

I have to admit...I do it (actually doing it now, but this is my lunch break...really!) Some days I miss my fids so much, I need a parrot fix and this is my favorite place to get it.

If there were a way that I could bring at least one of the girls or Max to my cube...I'd be designing just the right perch for it. Besides, I need to spend time with them when I get home, so not much computer time then - that and Jade likes to pull keys off the laptop.

I'm usually surfing the web when I'm waiting for something to load or process. If I have nothing else to do I hope on as well. You can tell it is a slow day at work if I'm active a lot lol!

I MUST BE ONE THE MOST GUILTY MEMBERS

I am on the parrot forum from about 6am till 10pm daily.
I work from home, between telephone calls, invoicing, packing and deliveries, I check out for spammers, and new members, not posting much during the day, BUT when I have a quiet "moment" I take full advantage.

Yeah yeah, I know it all sounds so bad BUT I have my reasons

1. I have never met my boss, I am dead serious.
2. No annual increase. Been in this business for 13 years now.
3. Always working on public holidays (no overtime pay) as well as weekends.
4. Have not been on annual leave since 2000. No weekend getaways.
5. No allowed any sick leave, sick notes not acceptable.
6. Working hours any time from 7am till the last order is packed.



I am my own boss :jumping40 AND I MAKE THE RULES

is allowed my devoted attention, every second of every day, while I am at work

Antoinette, I envy you! I wish I could work from home and be with my kids all day.

I am so addicted to my kids I convinced hubby to put cctv cameras in the house -"to watch for criminals". I watch for 'criminals' everyday while I am at work.:54:

when work is so slow, no orders coming in. Believe me it's darn hard.
I am a single mother of 2, life is a struggle each and every day.

My dream job is stay-at-home wife...since my kids are more or less grown. I'm seriously considering getting my massage therapy certification and leaving my job at the Cubicle Farm. I'd make less money, but I'm thinking the flexible hours would make up for it. However, since I have to have a job, I'm glad for the one I have. There are much worse companies to work for.

Ant - you get tons of respect from me for being a single mother and running your own business. Each of those endevours is enourmously daunting and to do both...my hat's off to you. I know I couldn't do it.

Ratzy & Apt - school is your job. It definitely counts.
