My heart is breaking, of the news that my beloved twinkies and hoho's are no more. Oh well, all good things must come to an end some time.

Oh, sorry to hear your news Mike:( But, I have to ask.. What are twinkies and hoho's ? LOL

haha, that's funny in a way but i also get how it is 'the end of an era' so to speak. i haven't had a snack cake since i was about 7 or so though, so i can't say i will 'miss' it.
i would guess another company would pick up where they left off???? there seems to be such a stir about it.

Oh no... I've always loved their ho hos!:17: I just read about them shutting down.:smile014:They are such a great company, with such classic treats. Farewell my lovely HoHos.....Hehe.

Don't worry, they are selling the Twinkies brand and probably all the other ones too. I bet somebody else will be making Hostess's products. You don't have to kiss your completely junky chocolate fix goodbye!

They were a very poorly managed company overall. Not to mention, there has been much change over the last fifteen years in people actually wanting healthier foods, and they never adapted to that. I've bought one box of Twinkies in my life, and didn't think they were that good. So I'm not sorry at all Hostess is going down, except for the thousands of people who are losing their jobs.

And for the record, a Twinkie has a shelf life of 28 days. I worked for a bakery and used to stock them, I had to pay attention to those dates.

I was kind of surprised when I heart the news. I don't think I've eaten any of their products in 10+ years, but I got used to seeing them everywhere.

My parents went by the store and saw that they were all out of stock lol every one is buying them out XD

I didn't eat hostess stuff that often but I did like their chocolate cream filled cup cakes, and I like to eat a Twinkie when watching Zombie land LOL

To be honest I do not eat them that much but I they are in a way something pleasant in my childhood. You could share a packet of cupcakes one for you and on for your friend. I will miss the zebra cakes, ho hos, ding dongs, and those choclate cookies with choclate cream in the middle. Thing is people buy discounted bread and maybe bake their own chocolate chip cookies.

Isn't there a warning label on the side of the twinkie package that says "WARNING NOT TO BE CONSUMED BY AUSTRAILIANS":) I would imagine the lard that is used in the cream filling would set heavier on you since you are in the land down under:):) ):

hahahah maybe there was! damn should of read the warnings ;)
yess it was too sweet and strong. could imagine how many calories were in it haha

but why are they closing down? they are pretty popular arent they

Just like the time when the world ended in the year 2000!!!!!!!

there are recipes online for homemade twinkies and I'm sure for their other treats. Non Americans won't understand the significance of this I don't believe.

I gotta add & I know it'll get censored or deleted.................:11:
