This morning I bought a new perch swing made with big, colored blocks. Leaving it started to rain. I got home and noticed yellow spots on my hands, then red and blue, even on my clothes. It's the dye from the wood blocks that got wet and transferred to me and my shirt. Now I'm worried that if the dye bleeds that fast is it safe for my fids? I'm thinking of taking it back but wondered if anyone has experienced this. Here are some pics.

Cute swing! That wicked food dye bleeds like crazy, but it should be harmless. My birds take baths and decorate themselves when they get too close to vegetable dyed toys, we've never had a problem other than strange colors on clothes and feathers.

Thanks. I went solely to get Canelo's (my English bulldog) special food because he's Mr. sensitive and has bad food allergies. I saw this perch swing from outside the store and it was between stacks of dog food on the opposite side of the store from my parrot money pit (said tongue in cheek because I have to look and always find something to bring home). I'm planning on mounting a ceiling hook above her cage so she can easily climb on it. She being Venus because the swing perch will try to eat Buddy, lol.

Tracey, do you mean to say you bought a Buddy-eating perch and brought it home? Poor Buddy!

Give Canelo a puppy hug for me, food allergies are awful!

LOL! Everything tries to eat Buddy, even a feather he lost 2 seconds ago.
